Very predictable result when seventh ranked Belgian Leuven Bears (21-14) edged at home 16th ranked Dutch Groningen (11-23) 75-73 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Point guard Steff Schauvlieger (185-2002) fired 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Noah Baumann (198-1999, college: GCU) chipped in 19 points. Leuven Bears' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian center Filip Brankovic (202-2003, agency: Tolakh Tsimur) produced 21 points and Czech-Canadian center James Karnik (206-1998, college: Boston Coll., agency: Players Group) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for lost side. Five Leuven and four Groningen players scored in double figures. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Leuven Bears . They maintain seventh place with 21-14 record. Groningen at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 23 games lost.
